When Wang Guiying accompanies her daughter‐in‐law Li Dandan to a prenatal check‐up, she receives a devastating shock: Li Dandan’s swollen belly is not from pregnancy, but advanced liver cancer. Without immediate treatment, Li Dandan will die. To protect her daughter‐in‐law’s mental state, Wang Guiying decides to keep the truth hidden. Desperate to fund Li Dandan’s medical care, Wang Guiying borrows money from relatives and friends. She even sells Peacock Flying Southeast, an embroidered artwork that was a precious love token from her late husband. In her desperation to raise funds, she is exploited and assaulted by Yu Haiyang, the factory director. Tragically, Li Dandan mistakenly believes Wang Guiying is the one dying from late‐stage liver cancer. Determined to strip her mother‐in‐law of any will to live, Li Dandan kicks Wang Guiying out of their home. Wang Guiying goes to the embroidery factory, but Li Dandan pursues her. She publicly spreads the false news that Wang Guiying has liver cancer, turning everyone against her. Wang Guiying faces ostracism and bullying from those around her. Meanwhile, Duan Hongyang, CEO of Imperial View Group, has long admired Wang Guiying and her exceptional embroidery craftsmanship. Amid the relentless persecution, Wang Guiying accepts an offer to join Imperial View Group. Duan Hongyang arrives to bring her away with a staggering annual salary of six million, shocking all the onlookers. The Raster Group, greatly impressed by Wang Guiying’s artwork, places a 50‐billion‐dollar order with Yu Haiyang’s embroidery factory. However, Yu Haiyang and Li Dandan foolishly fire Wang Guiying, causing the factory to lose the massive contract entirely. In the end, Li Dandan finally learns that she herself is the one suffering from liver cancer — but it is already too late for her.
